Japan Airlines announced on Thursday a new codeshare agreement with Shanghai Airlines. The partnership will add two new flights to JAL’s China network with service from Shanghai-Pudong to Osaka-Kansai and Toyama.

Japan Airlines announced Thursday an expansion of their international network in China by the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Shanghai Airlines. With the agreement, two new routes will be added with service between Shanghai-Pudong and Osaka-Kansai and Toyama airports. The partnership will provide additional options for customers of both airlines when traveling between China and Japan.
The Osaka-Kansai Flight will be operated daily departing Kansai at 7:30PM and arriving Shanghai-Pudong at 9:15PM. The return flight departs Shanghai-Pudong at 3:25PM and arrives Osaka-Kansai at 6:30PM. Service from Toyama Airport to Shanghai-Pudong will be operated twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will depart Toyama at 1:55PM, arriving Shanghai-Pudong at 3:55PM. The return flight will depart Shanghai-Pudong at 9:25AM and arrive in Toyama at 12:55PM.
Shanghai Airlines was founded in 1985 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines. The airline retains separate operations along with its unique branding and livery. Shanghai Airlines serves 80 domestic and international destinations and operates a fleet of 80 aircraft. The carrier’s bases are located at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai.
