Japan Airlines and Aeroflot Announce New Codeshare Agreement

Japan Airlines and Aeroflot announced a new codeshare agreement on Monday that will provide more connectivity between Japan and Russia. From March 29, 2020 travelers between Tokyo-Haneda and Moscow-Sheremetyevo will enjoy seamless domestic transfers.

On Monday, Japan Airlines (JAL) announced a new codeshare agreement with Aeroflot which will provide customers of both airlines seamless domestic connections when traveling between Tokyo-Haneda and Moscow-Sheremetyevo. As part of the agreement, which commences on March 29, 2020, both carriers will operate daily service between Tokyo (HND) and Moscow (SVO). Japan airlines will place their “JL” code on 10 popular Russian routes operated by Aeroflot, while Aeroflot will place their “SU” code on 10 major Japanese routes operated by JAL. In the future, the carriers plan on expanding the codeshare to include Aeroflot’s new route between Osaka (KIX) and Moscow (SVO) which will begin June 2020.

Aeroflot has also received a five star rating from APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) and has been awarded five stars for punctuality by UK global travel data provider OAG.
