Indigo has appointed Jiten Chopra Chief Financial Officer, effective February 21, 2021. Chopra will report to Ronojoy Dutta, Whole Time Director and CEO and succeed Aditya Pande, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
On Tuesday (February 9, 2021), InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) announced the appointment of Jiten Chopra as the airline’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective February 21, 2021. He will succeed Aditya Pande who is leaving the company to pursue other interests and will report to Ronojoy Dutta, IndiGo’s Whole Time Director and CEO. In Tuesday’s announcement, Indigo’s Chief Executive Officer, Ronojoy Dutta, said,
“We are fortunate and excited at Jiten accepting this position. His enormous expertise prior to IndiGo and his experience since February 2020 when he joined us, will greatly strengthen our team as we continue to build a world class national air transportation network.
“We are sorry to lose Aditya who for the past seventeen months has contributed greatly to IndiGo. We thank Aditya Pande for his services and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Commenting on his new role as IndiGo’s Chief Financial Officer, Jiten Chopra, added,
“I am delighted about my new role at IndiGo at this very exciting stage of the airline’s journey. I am looking forward to taking over as the CFO of one of the leading low-cost airlines in the world.”
Jiten Chopra joined IndiGo in February 2020 as Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance. Prior to joining the company, he had 25 years of experience working for BSR & Co (KPMG) in Audit and Risk Management, Business Development, Operations and Transaction Services. Before leaving KPMG, he attained the position of Senior Partner, COO Audit and Member of the Audit Executive team. Mr. Chopra is an FCA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants, India (1995), a CWA from the Institute of Cost Accountants, India (1995) and earned his Bachelor of Management Science Degree in 1990.
