On Friday (March 20, 2026), Iberia announced that they will operate a record summer 2026 flying program with over 21 million seats, including nearly 16 million seats in Europe alone.  Service to the U.S. and Canada will see the largest growth, with an over 19 percent increase in capacity compared to summer 2025. While service to Latin America will increase year-over-year by 7.6 percent.  Iberia’s network in Africa and Asia will also see 800,000 more seats than last summer. The carrier will also launch service to four new destinations during the summer season, including Toronto (Canada), Monterey (Mexico), Bucharest (Romania), and Tivat (Montenegro).  Iberia’s growth this summer has been made possible of the addition of new long-haul aircraft in recent months, including six new Airbus A321XLRs and a new Airbus A350-900.

Starting June 13, 2026, Iberia will launch new service between Madrid and Toronto Pearson with five weekly flights.  New York will remain a pillar of Iberia’s U.S. service and the carrier will launch new daily service to New York-Newark (EWR) starting March 29, 2026, complementing double daily service to New York-JFK.  Additionally, this will be the first full summer that Iberia will serve Orlando (MCO), which was inaugurated in October 2025.  For summer 2026, the route will operate three times weekly.  Additionally, the schedule is completed with two daily flights to Boston and Miami, thanks to the incorporation of the A321XLR, as well as daily service to Dallas, Chicago and Washington D.C.  Los Angeles will see up to one daily flight during the months of June, July and August, while San Francisco will have three weekly frequencies.

As always, Latin America will play a key role in Iberia’s summer 2026 flying program.  New this summer is service to Recife and Fortaleza in Brazil, as well as service to Monterrey, Mexico, which will launch on June 2nd with three weekly frequencies.  Additionally, Iberia will increase capacity to Argentina, where during June, July and August service to Buenos Aires will rise to 23 weekly frequencies, compared to the current 21, making it the company's first long-haul destination to exceed three daily flights.  Likewise, Brazil will have a 15 percent increase in the number of seats compared to the previous summer, the Dominican Republic will see 21 percent more capacity, while Chile will have 7 percent more.  Puerto Rico will also see an increase, with 10-12 weekly frequencies.

Iberia continues to strengthen their European network for summer 2026 with the addition of two new routes, including Bucharest (Romania) and Tivat (Montenegro).  From June 3rd through September 30, 2026, flights to Bucharest will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, while flights to Tivat will operate twice weekly from July 18th through September 15, 2026.  Seasonal routes operated in previous summers will also return this year, including service to Dubrovnik, Croatia, which will operate from April through October, with up to 14 weekly frequencies.  Likewise, direct routes to Zagreb and Split return throughout the summer, both with up to nine weekly frequencies.

Iberia will also resume flights to Catania from April, with up to eight weekly frequencies, and to Palermo, which will be operated between July and September with up to three weekly frequencies.  In addition to this, there are connections with Sardinia, specifically Olbia, with up to five weekly frequencies, and Cagliari with up to three.  In Greece, Iberia will offer flights to Corfu and Mykonos, with up to seven weekly frequencies, and to Santorini, with up to six, operating between June and September.  Iberia will also resume summer service to Funchal (Madeira), with up to five weekly frequencies, Ponta Delgada (Azores), with three, Tirana (Albania), with three, and Ljubljana (Slovenia), with two weekly frequencies from June to September.

Key European destinations will also see added capacity this summer.  Service to Athens will increase to 16 weekly flights in April, May and October, four frequencies more than last summer, and will reach a maximum of 29 weekly frequencies in August.  Flights to Milan will increase by two weekly frequencies, reaching 44 weekly flights throughout the summer.  Additionally, Nice will see three additional frequencies, reaching 24 weekly flights this summer.
