On Tuesday (October 14, 2025), Iberia announced the launch of new direct service between Madrid and Monterrey, Mexico. Starting June 2, 2026, the route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays with a 288-seat Airbus A330-200 featuring Business and Tourist Class cabins. Flights will depart Madrid at 13:10, arriving in Monterrey at 17:05, while the return flight departs Mexico City at 18:35, and arrives back in Madrid at 13:05+1. The new Monterrey service complements Iberia’s existing triple daily service to Mexico City.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Iberia’s Director of Sales, Sales, Customers, Network and Alliances, María Jesús López Solás, said,
“We are reinforcing our commitment to such an important, strategic, and beloved market as Mexico. Today we officially announce our route between Madrid and Monterrey, which will begin operating in the summer season of 2026. This, combined with the three daily flights we operate to Mexico City, will allow us to offer more than 800,000 seats connecting both countries, a historic figure in the long history between Iberia and the Mexican market.”

With the addition of service to Monterrey, Iberia will offer over 800,000 seats connecting Mexico with Europe by 2026, a figure currently unmatched by any other market in Latin America within the airline's network. Iberia plans on operating the new Madrid-Monterrey route beyond summer 2026, and will announce their winter 2026/27 schedule in the future.
