On Tuesday (November 24, 2020), Iberia announced the launch of a new inflight dining experience featuring freshly prepared and exquisitely presented dishes. The airline is restoring their meal service with comprehensive safety measures and the bespoke menu will focus on quality ingredients and the Mediterranean diet. Additionally, Iberia is reopening the Premium Lounge Dalí at their T4 hub in Madrid featuring all new gourmet dishes. The airline’s new catering provider DO & CO adheres to the strictest health and safety protocols when preparing meals for Iberia’s guests.

Presentation of the new onboard meal service will include new tableware and linens on all short and medium-haul flights, as well as transatlantic flights to the U.S. The new service will be gradually implemented across Iberia’s entire network. In Business Class on short and medium-haul flights, guests will enjoy a hot breakfast such as an omelette served with salted spinach, a Spanish-style omelette accompanied by fresh tomato concassé and roasted green peppers or an omelette with avocado and red onion served with oven-baked potatoes. Guests will also enjoy freshly made butter croissants paired with fresh seasonal fruit, a superfood bowl of craft yogurt with seeds and berries, plus coffee, tea and fruit juices. On longer flights customers will also enjoy a plate of Spanish cheese and cold cuts.

For Business Class flights after 10:30 a.m., customers within Spain or to/from Portugal will be served a gourmet cold snack and a main dish such as smoked salmon tartlet with Japanese rice served on a light cream of wasabi, a dressed cherry tomato salad with buffalo mozzarella, or roast beef with hummus, baked courgettes and black olives, plus fresh fruit.

On Flights longer than 1.5 hours which depart after 10:30 a.m., Business Class guests will enjoy a starter salad and a fresh hot lunch or dinner, including a vegetarian option. Main dish choices include veal sirloin with string beans and crispy bacon accompanied by baked potatoes or Rigatoni with a mild celery mousseline served with fresh garden vegetable ratatouille. Customers will also enjoy an exquisite homemade dessert such as double chocolate cake, almond and orange cake or white chocolate mousse with berries. Guests traveling on longer flights will also receive an additional plate of Spanish cheese as an appetizer.

Long-haul Business Class guests will be pampered with a cold starter such as roast beef carpaccio with vegetables and Cipriani sauce followed by a choice of three hot entrees. Main meal menu choices include roast lamb with smoked roast peppers on a bed of pea and edamame mousseline or Langostines with homemade tomato and Parmesan sauce accompanied by grilled broccolini and rice. For November 2020, the vegetarian choice is a spinach quiche with Manchegan cheese and a mild Romescu sauce. Long-haul customers will also enjoy a second service before landing which is either breakfast or an afternoon snack, depending on the time of day. On the longest flights, guests will also enjoy an additional service between meals including salads, fresh fruit and sweet or salty snacks.

Economy Class guests will have a choice of two hot main dishes such as baked chicken and seasonal vegetables served with rice or Rigatoni with homemade tomato sauce topped with roasted aubergines. For dessert, Economy Class customers will also enjoy DO & CO’s flagship chocolate mousse. The second service will include breakfast or an afternoon snack with a selection of juices and hot beverages and longer flight will offer 'in-between meal' snacks such as tapas boxes, sandwiches, sweet or salty snacks, water and juices.
