Gulf Air to Launch Direct Service to Tel Aviv From September 30, 2021

Gulf Air will launch two weekly direct flights to Tel Aviv starting September 30, 2021. The launch follows the announcement of peace between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel and the political, commercial and aviation agreements signed last year.

On Thursday (September 9, 2021), Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the launch of twice-weekly direct service to Tel Aviv from September 30, 2021. The new route follows the historic peace agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Israel and the State of Israel, and the political, commercial, and civil aviation agreements signed last year.


In Thursday’s announcement, Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Captain Waleed AlAlawi, said,


“We are delighted to announce the launch of our Bahrain–Tel Aviv route as part of the historic Bahraini–Israeli relations. As the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain; we take great pride in supporting our leadership and Kingdom in their role of preserving peace and prosperity in the region. We hope this is merely the beginning of developing further opportunities.”


Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and normally serves 49 cities in 27 countries. From its hub at Bahrain International Airport, the airline offers twice daily service to 10 or more regional cities as well as international flights to the Indian subcontinent and Europe. Gulf Air currently operates a modern fleet of 33 narrow and widebody aircraft and by 2023 their fleet will consist of 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, 12 Airbus A320neos and 17 Airbus A321neos. The airline is known for its traditional Arabian hospitality, and Gulf Air is committed to becoming an industry leader by developing products and services that reflect the evolving needs and aspirations of their guests.
