On Wednesday at the Kuwait Aviation Show, Gulf Air announced new service to Nice on the Cote d’Azur in France starting July 2020. The national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain will offer two weekly flights on the route which will be serviced by an Airbus A321neo. The new destination is inline with Gulf Air’s strategy to add premium leisure destinations to their route network. In Wednesday’s announcement, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and Chairman of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors, H. E. Zayed R. Alzayani said,

“It is very exciting for our national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain to reach further places and connect multiple cities in the east and the west to its hub, Bahrain. On the western side of our network map and coinciding with our expansion in Europe in summer 2020, we will launch flights to Nice on the Cote d’Azur as a boutique destination catering to our premium leisure travelers. As we welcome our new Airbus A321neo this year, we will serve our European routes with a brand new aircraft featuring flat-beds and superior in-flight entertainment system for more enjoyable journeys with Gulf Air.”

Gulf Air is expanding their network tactically to strengthen their route map with feeder city destinations balanced from the east and west of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Recently, the carrier announced that during the summer 2020 season, they will offer year-round service to Milan, Italy as well as seasonal service to Mykonos, Greece and Munich, Germany.
