Frontier Airlines has today announced a major expansion of service to Puerto Rico with five new nonstop routes to san Juan, and new service to Aguadilla and Ponce. The carrier has also launched a $399 GoWild! all-you-can-fly summer pass.
On Tuesday (January 31, 2023), Frontier airlines announced a major expansion to/from Puerto Rico with five additional nonstop routes, plus new service to Aguadilla and Ponce. Starting May 2023, the carrier will offer new service to San Juan (SJU) from Chicago-Midway (MDW), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Detroit (DTW), Cleveland (CLE), Baltimore/Washington (BWI) and Cancun (CUN). Frontier will also launch new service to San Juan from Denver (DEN) via DFW in May. Additionally, the airline will start new service to Aguadilla (BQN) from Tampa (TPA), and to Ponce (PSE) from Orlando (MCO).
In Tuesday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President – Commercial, Daniel Shurz, said,

It is a fantastic vacation destination with stunning beaches, historical sites and the one-of-a-kind El Yunque National Forest. For those with family and friends on the island, we’re offering more options than ever to fly affordably and conveniently between a multitude of major cities and Puerto Rico.”
Also commenting on Frontier’s Puerto Rico network expansion, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company’s Executive Director, Carlos Mercado, said.
“We thank our Frontier partners for once again demonstrating their commitment to our destination. The addition of new nonstop routes between Puerto Rico and seven cities in the United States and Cancun, Mexico, significantly expands the options for visitors to the Island. At the same time, we celebrate the expansion of operations to the Mercedita International Airport in Ponce, which will certainly boost tourism activity and the economy of the southern region.”

To celebrate the launch of the new routes, Frontier Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares from only $49. To qualify for the low promotional fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on February 7, 2023, for travel on select days of the week for travel from May 4th through June 28, 2023 (a roundtrip purchase is not required). Blackout dates include May 26-29, 2023.

In a separate press release today (January 31, 2023), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of their GoWild! all-you-can-fly summer pass at a special introductory price of $399. The pass is good for unlimited flights from May 2nd through September 30, 2023, and can be used for any U.S. or international destination Frontier serves. With the GoWild! pass, domestic travel can be booked and confirmed the day before departure, while international flights can be booked and confirmed starting 10 days prior to departure.
