As Finland reopens its borders, Finnair announced on Thursday that their July 2020 schedule will now serve over 30 destinations. The carrier will increase their traffic in July with 70-80 one-way daily flights to domestic, European and Asian destinations.
Today (July 9, 2020), Finnair announced that as Finland opens its borders for travelers, the carrier will serve over 30 destinations in July. On July 13, 2020, Finland will open their borders for travelers from certain countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Slovakia and Switzerland. Finland will also allow work-related travel from China, Japan, South Korea and Thailand. Finnair guests entering the country from these nations will not be subject to quarantine requirements. In June, Finland reopened their borders for travelers from Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway. During July, Finnair will now offer around 70-80 daily one-way flights to domestic, European and Asian destinations including Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong. In Thursday’s announcement, Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ole Orvér said,
“Changes in travel restrictions are quickly reflected in the bookings of our flights and we can clearly see that people have a need and desire to travel. We are already now looking forward to the next round of new openings in two weeks’ time and the possibilities they will bring to our network and customers. The Finnish travel industry welcomes international tourists to explore the beautiful Finnish summer. The Northern white nights can be experienced for example in Finnish Lapland, the Finnish nature has plenty to offer for travelers who look for authentic experiences.”
During August, Finnair will also open more routes to Alanya, Antalya, Bergen, Crete (Chania and Heraklion), Dublin, Dubrovnik, Edinburgh, Milan, Palma, Rhodes, Rome, Split, Saint Petersburg and Warsaw. The carrier’s plans to resume service to Shanghai are still subject to government approvals.
Finnair advises travelers to review potential destination travel restrictions by reviewing information from a trusted source such as IATA’s ‘Travel Center’ pages. The airline is also offering guests exceptional flexibility when booking with the ability to change travel dates for itineraries through August 31, 2020. Finnair has also implemented enhanced health and safety protocols for customers and cabin crew members including the requirement to wear masks. Finnair aircraft also undergo an enhanced cleaning regimen and customers will receive a complimentary “Clean Kit” with hand sanitizer and surface wipes. Additionally, airports in Finland have implemented procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests in transit.
