Finnair has appointed Kristian Pullola as the airline’s new Chief Financial Officer effective October 1st, 2022, succeeding the company’s current CFO Mika Stirkkinen. Mr. Pullola will join Finnair as an Executive Advisor on September 1st as part of the transition.
On Wednesday (August 24, 2022), Finnair announced the appointment of Kristian Pullola (49) as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the company’s Executive Board effective October 1st, 2022. Mr. Pullola succeeds Finnair’s current CFO, Mika Stirkkinen, who will act as an Executive Advisor from October 1st to ensure a smooth transition prior to departing the airline on October 31st, 2022. As part of the transition process, Kristian Pullola will join Finnair as an Executive Advisor from September 1st, 2022. Pullola joins Finnair from Nokia, where he served as the company’s CFO for an extended period of time, after holding senior leadership roles with the company in accounting, finance and investor relations. Mr. Pullola holds a Masters Degree in Economics.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Finnair’s CEO, Topi Manner, said,
“Mika and his team have been in a central role as we with comprehensive measures built a path for Finnair out of the historic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to him for this, and for all the work he has done in his different Finnair roles for the company. I wish Mika all the best for his next chapter. At the same time, I welcome Kristian to the Finnair team, as we now build Finnair’s new strategy in a dramatically changed operating environment. Kristian’s vast experience in driving change is an asset for us as we move towards Finnair’s next chapter.”
Commenting on his departure from Finnair, current CFO Mika Stirkkinen said,
“I am leaving Finnair with feelings of wistfulness and gratitude. The pandemic was an ultimate stress test for us, and I am extremely proud of my team and the whole company. My 23 years in Finnair have been filled with learnings and new challenges, and it has been a privilege to be a part of the team.”
Finnair’s new Chief Financial Officer, Kristian Pullola, added,
