On Tuesday (September 14, 2021), Finnair announced the addition of new destinations and added frequencies to destinations across Europe, Asia and North America. The carrier continues to offer daily service to Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok, as well as multiple weekly flights to Singapore and Hong Kong. In October, Finnair will resume service to Osaka, followed by Nagoya in February 2022. The airline will also start serving Dubai with a widebody aircraft and extend Chicago service for the winter 2021/22 season. From Helsinki, the airline also offers daily service to New York, as well as three weekly flights to both Miami and Los Angeles. Additionally, Finnair will introduce direct service from Stockholm to Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Phuket and Bangkok.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ole Orvér, said,

“We are excited to be able to expand the breadth and depth of our network, enabling better connections for customers as travel continues to pick up. We are also re-introducing services to support a smooth and convenient travel experience. We opened our Schengen lounge already in August, and Finnair’s Non-Schengen Lounge at Helsinki airport will open in early October. Our customers can enjoy our newly refreshed onboard food and drink service where we combine Nordic flavors with tastes borrowed from our friends abroad. The best Finnair fares are available on Finnair.com and Finnair mobile app, where shopping is easy and convenient.”

Throughout the winter season, Finnair will also add frequencies across Europe with double-daily service to Amsterdam, Munich, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Frankfurt, as well as three daily flights to London and Paris. The carrier will also increase frequencies to St. Petersburg in support of their North American destinations. Additionally, Finnair will offer multiple daily frequencies to the Scandinavian capitals and launch new service to Krakow and Gdansk. The airline’s winter schedule will also see multiple weekly frequencies to popular holiday destinations such as Malaga, the Canary Islands, Madrid and Barcelona. With increasing demand for travel to the Finnish Lapland, the carrier will offer four daily flights to Rovaniemi, Ivalo and Kittilӓ, as well as two daily services to Kuusamo, with convenient connections from Helsinki.

Specializing in passenger and cargo traffic between Asia and Europe, Finnair is a modern premium network airline with a competitive advantage due to their geographical location. Sustainability is at the heart of everything Finnair does, and the carrier is committed to cutting their net emissions by 50 percent by the end of 2025 (compared to a 2019 baseline) and achieving carbon neutrality by the end of 2045. The carrier is also a member of the global oneworld® alliance and its shares are traded on the Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange.
