Fiji Airways will reconnect New Zealand with Nadi, Fiji from March 14, 2022. The carrier will offer daily service from Auckland, up to three weekly flights from Christchurch and up to two weekly flights from Wellington.
On Thursday (February 10, 2022), Fiji Airways, the national carrier of Fiji, announced the restart of service between New Zealand and Nadi, Fiji from March 14, 2022. The carrier will offer daily service from Auckland, up to three weekly flights from Christchurch, and up to two weekly flights from Wellington. The restart of service from New Zealand follows the announcement from New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, that fully vaccinated Kiwis could once again enjoy international travel without quarantine. Now, holiday-starved Kiwis can enjoy a long-awaited vacation in Fiji, and then self-isolate upon return to New Zealand.
In Thursday’s announcment, Fiji Airways’ Managing Director and CEO, Andre Viljoen, said,

And are excited to give our Kiwi whānau and friends a big bula welcome back onboard, safely transporting them to a well-deserved vacation in Fijian paradise. The safety of our guests and crew will always be our highest priority. Our entire workforce is fully vaccinated and boosted and we have implemented an award-winning Travel Ready programme dedicated to the safety and wellness of our guests and staff.
“We have medically-qualified Customer Wellness Champions onboard every international flight to offer medical guidance and assistance if required. We are the only airline in the Australia-Pacific region to offer this service, as well as the only in the region to achieve a Skytrax 5-Star COVID Safety rating and the highest Hospital Grade “Diamond” certification by APEX Health and Safety.”
Fiji Airways is offering Economy Class return fares from $549 NZD, and Business Class return fares from $1,190 NZD. To celebrate the relaunch of service between new Zealand and Fiji, the carrier is also offering exclusive package holidays at up to 45 percent off compared to 2019 prices. Since resuming international flights on December 1st, 2020, Fiji Airways has introduced a suite of new products and services to enhance the guest experience. The carrier increased the standard economy baggage allowance from 23kg to 30kg, and overhauled their onboard dining experience in partnership with renowned Fijian-New Zealand Chef Richard Cross. Fiji Airways also introduced a new range of highly rated wines from the world’s most esteemed international wine regions.
Fiji Airways’ guests also now have access to the digital reading platform, PressReader, which includes over 7,000 international newspapers and magazines that can be downloaded directly to their personal device. The service is available 96 hours prior to departure and up to 24 hours after the flight. For their youngest guests, Fiji Airways has also launched ‘Our Ocean, Our Life’, a complimentary inflight activity pack and book series for passengers aged 2-12, which is dedicated to education the future generation on the importance of preserving and protecting Fiji’s fragile marine environment.
Travelers arriving in Fiji must be fully-vaccinated and present evidence of a negative Covid-19 rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours prior to departure. Visitors must also complete an additional rapid test at their resort in Fiji 24 hours after arrival. Upon check-in, passengers must also present proof of at least three nights minimum prepaid accommodation with a Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) certified hotel or resort, including a CFC certified transfer from the airport.
