Etihad Airways has today announced the appointment of Arik De as Chief Revenue Officer. Mr. De has served as the carrier’s Vice President of Revenue and & Commerce since April 2022, where he was responsible for revenue management and e-commerce.
On Wednesday (January 4, 2023), Etihad Airways announced the appointment of Arik De as Chief Revenue Officer, where he will oversee a new organizational division focused on revenue. Since April 2022, Mr. De has served as the airline’s Vice President of Revenue and Commerce, responsible for revenue management and e-commerce. Starting his career in finance over 20 years ago at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), De has spent the last 15 years in the aviation industry. He previously held positions with WestJet, AirAsia, Aeroméxico, and most recently served as Chief Revenue & Network Officer at TAP Air Portugal.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Antonoaldo Neves, said,
“With the world quickly returning to pre-Covid levels of travel, we have a unique opportunity to build on and strengthen our leading position at Etihad Airways. Our new Revenue division will deliver state-of-the-art revenue management capabilities, broaden our airline partnerships and enhance our network to better serve our guests and our home of Abu Dhabi. Arik has had a substantial positive impact on our revenue performance over the past nine months, and I look forward to closely working with him as we build on these interdependent areas, which are critical for financial sustainability.”
Also commenting on his new role at Etihad Airways, Arik De added,
“I am excited to take on the Chief Revenue Officer role at a time of such opportunity, as international travel demand kicks into high gear. Etihad Airways has an incredible product, service and team behind it, and I look forward to working together to enable growth and deliver value as we take our airline to new heights.”
In this newly created role, Mr. De will report directly to Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive Officer, Antonoaldo Neves. His responsibilities will include overseeing key revenue-related functions such as Revenue Management, Distribution & E-commerce, Network Planning, Alliances & Joint Ventures, Aero-political & Industry Affairs, as well as Etihad Guest, the carrier’s loyalty program. Arik De holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Policy from the University of Chicago.
