Etihad Airways Celebrates the Launch of Inaugural Service Between Abu Dhabi and Charlotte

Etihad Airways’ inaugural nonstop flight between Abu Dhabi and Charlotte, North Carolina touched down on Friday, March 20, 2026.  The flight was operated with a state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000.

On Saturday (March 21, 2026), Etihad Airways announced the launch of their inaugural direct flight between Abu Dhabi and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina (U.S.).  Operated with a state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000, the inaugural flight arrived in Charlotte on Friday, March 20, 2026.  The new route connects the Charlotte region and communities throughout North Carolina and the broader Southeast to Etihad’s global network, supporting both passenger and freight connectivity and providing access to key destinations across India and Asia.  


The A350 is among the most advanced and fuel-efficient widebody aircraft in commercial service, featuring the latest generation engines and aerodynamics.  Guests traveling in Etihad’s Business Class cabin enjoy fully lie-flat beds, direct aisle access, enhanced privacy, and a premium dining experience.  With 327 seats in Economy, guests benefit from generous legroom, personal inflight entertainment with Bluetooth headset pairing, and complimentary Wi-Fi chat packages. 


Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and serves 110 destinations worldwide.  The carrier operates a fleet of 128 aircraft, including Boeing 777-300ERs, 777F Freighters, 787-9 Dreamliners, and 787-10s, as well as Airbus A320ceos, A320neos, A321ceos, A321neos, A321LRs, A330-900s, A350-100s, and A380-800s.  The currently has an order for 10 Airbus A350F Freighters, as well as 15 new Boeing 777-9s, among others.
