Yesterday (June 18, 2020), Emirates announced the addition of ten new cities to their route network as well as connections to 40 cities via Dubai. The new scheduled flights include service to Colombo (from June 20th), Sailkot (June 24th) and Istanbul from June 25, 2020. Starting July 1st, the carrier will add service to Auckland, Beirut, Brussels, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and starting July 15th, 2020, Emirates will resume service to Barcelona and Washington D.C. The carrier’s flights from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Pakistan will only carry outbound passengers to the UAE and further connections through Dubai. In Thursday’s announcement, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim said,

“Thanks to the UAE authorities’ support and partnership, Emirates has been able to provide smooth and safe journeys for those who need to travel, and we look forward to adding flights to more destinations in the coming weeks. The UAE government’s recent announcement to ease travel for UAE citizens and residents show the thorough approach that our country is taking with regards to resuming economic activities, and as we gradually return to regular services, Emirates’ number one priority will always be the health and safety of our customers, crew and our communities.”

In addition to the cities announced today, during July, Emirates will also add service to London-Heathrow, Manchester, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Madrid, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, New York-JFK, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. Providing guests meet the relevant entry requirements of their destinations, Emirates offers seamless connectivity through Dubai for customers traveling between the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Emirates has implemented a comprehensive set of measures to ensure the health and well-being of guests and team members throughout their journey, including the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes. As travel restrictions remain in place in many locations, Emirates reminds guests that they will only be accepted on flights if they comply with eligibility and entry requirements of their destination countries.
