Airbus has today announced that EGYPTAIR has taken delivery of their first of 16 Airbus A350-900 aircraft on order. Currently, EGYPTAIR operates an Airbus fleet of eight A320neos, seven A321neos and 11 A330 Family aircraft.

On Monday (February 9, 2026), Airbus announced that EGYPTAIR has taken delivery of their first of 16 A350-900s on order, becoming the launch operator for the type in North Africa. The new A350s will support the carrier’s long‑haul fleet modernization program and network expansion, with new direct routes to key destinations, including the U.S. West Coast and North Asia. EGYPTAIR currently operates an Airbus fleet of eight A320neos, seven A321neos, and 11 A330 Family aircraft, including five A330-200P2F.
EGYPTAIR’s new A350-900 features a two-class configuration, with 30 Business Class suites and 310 Economy Class seats. The aircraft also features the latest-generation Airspace cabin, which has been designed to improve the long-haul experience for both passengers and crew through enhanced ergonomics and greater comfort.
The Airbus A350 has a range of up to 9,700 nautical miles / 18,000 kilometers non-stop. The aircraft features state-of-the-art technologies and aerodynamics that deliver unmatched standards of efficiency and comfort. With the latest generation Rolls-Royce engines and the use of lightweight materials, the aircraft offers a 25 percent advantage in fuel burn, operating costs and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation competitor aircraft.
Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 is already able to operate with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is targeting to have their aircraft up to 100 percent SAF capable by 2030. At January 31, 2026, the A350 Family had won over 1,500 orders from 67 customers worldwide.
