On Wednesday (September 18, 2024), easyJet announced that they will launch new direct service between London Luton and Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, for the first time.  Starting April 1st, 2025, the route will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.  easyJet has also launched new service to Tbilisi from Geneva and Milan Malpensa.  In support of enhanced connectivity from London Luton, the carrier recently based an additional Airbus A320 at their Luton base, expanding the airport’s based fleet to 25 A320 Family aircraft.

In Wednesday’s route announcement, easyJet’s UK Country manager, Ali Gayward, said,

“We are delighted announce a new route to a brand-new destination on our network today, and to be providing  direct connectivity between the UK and Tbilisi in Georgia for the first time from next summer, providing even more choice for our customers flying from London Luton who choose us for our unrivalled network which we continue to strengthen, our crew and their fantastic service, and of course our great value fares.”

Each year, over seven million passengers travel with easyJet from London Luton to 74 destinations. Since the carrier’s first flight from London Luton to Edinburgh nearly 30 years ago, the airline has flown over 124 million customers from the airport.  easyJet connects London Luton to key cities across Europe such as Paris and Amsterdam, as well as to a range of popular holiday destinations in Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt.
