On Wednesday (May 11, 2022), easyJet announced a new partnership with Neos, part of the Alpitour Group, to offer enhanced connectivity from Southern Italy to New York and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic via Milan Malpensa. From June 16, 2022, easyJet will offer connecting flights for Neos’ passengers from Catania, Naples and Palermo traveling to New York and Santo Domingo with an interim stop at Milan Malpensa, easyJet’s main hub in continental Europe. The new partnership will allow Alpitour Group, the leading tour operator in Italy, to expand their product offering in Southern Italy, by enabling the distribution of easyJet and Neos connecting flights by Alpitour agencies. This will build on the current distribution collaboration on the Worldwide by easyJet platform.

In Wednesday’s announcement, easyJet Italy’s Country Manager, Lorenzo Lagorio, said,

“We are excited to launch this partnership with Neos, which allows us to broaden the range of connections from Italy to an increasing number of destinations around the world. At a time of strong recovery for tourism, easyJet is committed to making the travel experience for its Italian customers easier, even when travelling to faraway destinations, while also encouraging tourists from other continents to visit the wonders of our country. The Neos-easyJet partnership is a step in this direction, transforming and improving the concept of travel thanks to two of the most popular brands for those flying to and from Italy.”

Also commenting on the new partnership, Neos’ Commercial Director, Aldo Sarnataro, said,

“The partnership with easyJet started with Worldwide over the past few years, enables us to introduce a new element to our business, further expanding connections to and from Milan Malpensa and allowing us to offer a wider and more flexible long-haul service for incoming leisure tourism. Neos has been working for some time on enriching its network of destinations and collaborating with other leading companies in the industry to offer its customers a wide selection of destinations that can be reached with the latest generation of aircrafts.”

Neos started regular flights in October 2002, as the only carrier certified to fly the Italy-Cape Verde route, followed by routes to the Canary islands in 2003. By the summer of 2004, NEOS Air began serving numerous Mediterranean holiday destinations. The airline began long-haul flights December 2004 and the routes are currently served by NEOS’ six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The carrier’s fleet also includes five Boeing 737-800s and four Boeing 737-8s.
