On Friday (October 13, 2023), Delta Air Lines announced the launch of new service between Atlanta (ATL) and Mexico’s new Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum. Starting March 28, 2024, the route will operate daily with a 160-seat Boeing 737-800 featuring First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin options. In Friday’s route announcement, Delta Air Lines’ SVP of Network Planning, Joe Esposito, said,

“Delta is uniquely positioned to give customers convenient and direct access from the U.S. to Tulum, a premium leisure destination known for its boutique hotels, Mayan ruins and eco-friendly spirit. We know Tulum-bound customers will enjoy the elevated experience Delta consistently offers – and now without a two-hour drive from Cancun – as we grow our footprint in Mexico and throughout the Yucatan region.”

Starting December 2023, Delta’s partner Aeromexico will also serve Tulum from Mexico City International Airport (MEX), and by the end of 2024, the Delta-Aeromexico Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA) will offer over 90 daily flights between Mexico and the U.S. From Atlanta, Delta serves more than 100 U.S. cities, enabling seamless one-stop connections to Tulum and other popular spring break destinations.
