Delta Air Lines to Launch New Seasonal Service From New York-JFK to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires

Delta Air Lines will launch new seasonal service between New York-JFK and Rio de Janeiro from December 16, 2023. The carrier will also start seasonal service from JFK to Buenos Aires on October 28, 2023.

On Monday (February 6, 2023), Delta Air Lines announced the launch of new seasonal service between New York (JFK) and Rio de Janeiro (GIG) starting December 16, 2023. The route will be operated with a Boeing 767-300ER featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin service. Flight DL245 will depart JFK at 20:30 and will arrive in Rio de Janeiro at 08:20+1. The return flight, DL244, departs Rio de Janeiro at 10:20 and arrives back in New York at 18:30 (all times local). Delta will also launch new seasonal service between New York-JFK and Buenos Aires (EZE) starting October 28, 2023. The route will be operated with a Boeing 767-400ER, with flight DL115 departing JFK at 20:50 and arriving in Buenos Aires at 09:00+1. The return flight, DL114, departs Buenos Aires at 21:15 and arrives in New York at 05:35+1 (all times local).

In Monday’s route announcement, Delta Air Lines’ Vice President for Latin America, Alex Antilla, said,


“Since implementing our Joint Venture, we’ve been working closely with LATAM to introduce exciting new routes that are expanding opportunities for customers traveling between the U.S. and South America. Together, we’re offering New Yorkers the most flights and the best experience for travel between the two continents.”


Also commenting on the new South American routes, LATAM Airlines Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Martin St. George, added,


“We are happy to work with Delta to grow our joint presence between the Americas. As South America's largest airline, we are excited to work with them to offer our customers more flight options and a world-class on-board experience.”


Delta also currently offers daily service to São Paulo (GRU) from JFK, as well as double-daily service from Atlanta. São Paulo service is also available from Boston (BOS) Orlando (MCO), Miami (MIA) and Los Angeles (LAX) from summer 2023. The carrier also offers seasonal service between Atlanta and Rio de Janeiro.
