On Monday (September 30, 2024), Condor unveiled a special aircraft livery marking the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. The ‘FlyPink Plane’, an Airbus A320, registration D-AICS, features Condor’s distinctive striped livery in pink, and will help spread the important message worldwide. While raising awareness for breast cancer prevention, Condor shows solidarity with those impacted, and will also collect donations for Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. to support the organization, particularly in further research.
In Monday’s announcement, Condor’s COO, Christian Schmitt, said,
“The presentation of our FlyPink Plane makes me particularly proud, because the support for FlyPink originated from our employees many years ago. Since then, our crews have expressed their support every year by wearing pink uniform accessories. From now on, we are literally taking this commitment to new heights, making another strong statement with our FlyPink Plane and offering a platform to organizations like Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. in the important fight against breast cancer.”
Also commenting on the rollout of Condor’s FlyPink Plane, Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.’s Founder and Chairwoman, Renate Haidinger, added,
“It's great that Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. can be a part of this. Condor's pink and white striped aircraft will generate a lot of lasting attention and highlight the importance of early detection of breast cancer as well as show solidarity with those affected. We are delighted to be on board.”
In addition to the special livery, guests traveling onboard the FlyPink Plane will notice a range of pink touches such as headrest covers, as well as on special ‘safety cards’, which contain detailed information on breast cancer prevention.
The maiden flight of the FlyPink Plane will takeoff tomorrow (October 1st) with service from Frankfurt to Lanzarote following a sendoff by Kira Schäfer, Regional Representative Hessen and Stefanie Reim from Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. as well as Christian Schmitt, Condor’s COO. The crew of the flight, commanded by Captain Katharina Heimann, will then set off for the Canary Islands. Pink-striped Condor swag is now available for purchase in the Condor Shop and onboard, will all proceeds to be donated to Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.
