Today, Airbus announced that China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has rebalanced their existing order backlog and adding an additional 40 A321neos. As part of the agreement, CALC will convert a previous order for 15 A320neos to A321neos. Including a previous order for 11 A321neos, CALC now has 66 of the aircraft type on order. Currently, CALC has received 87 of 252 Airbus A320 Family aircraft on order, including one A321neo. With unbeatable fuel and operational efficiency, today’s order confirms the market demand for the aircraft.
The largest member of the Airbus narrow body family, the A321neo can accommodate up to 240 passengers in a single-class configuration. Incorporating next generation engines and state-of-the art aerodynamic design, the A321neo delivers a 20 percent fuel burn reduction and a noise footprint that is half that of previous generation aircraft. Currently, Airbus has delivered over 9,000 out of more than 15,300 A320 Family aircraft ordered, making it one of the most successful commercial aircraft lines in history.
