Cebu Pacific Takes Delivery of Ninth New Airbus A320neo

Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of their ninth new Airbus A320neo, with the aircraft touching down in Manila on Sunday, January 1st, 2023. The aircraft also used SAF on the ferry flight from the Airbus facility in Hamburg, Germany.

On Tuesday (January 3, 2023), Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced the delivery of their ninth new Airbus A320neo, with the ferry flight touching down in Manila on Sunday, January 1st, 2023. During the flight from Airbus’ facility in Hamburg to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila the aircraft used sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The use of SAF can result in a reduction in a reduction of up to 80 percent carbon emissions across the lifecycle. CEB was the first low-cost carrier in Southeast Asia to incorporate SAF into their operations with the delivery of their third Airbus A330neo in May 2022. Cebu Pacific expects to take delivery of a total of 11 new Airbus aircraft in 2023, including three A320neos, four A321neos, and four Airbus A330neos.


In Tuesday’s announcment, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Strategy Officer, Alex Reyes, said,


“This SAF-powered aircraft delivery supports our sustainability strategy in shifting to a more fuel-efficient NEO fleet by 2028. We will continue prioritizing our sustainability journey as we maintain our position as the greenest airline in Asia.”


Cebu Pacific (CEB) currently operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines with 35 destinations, along with 18 international destinations. CEB operates one of the youngest fleets in the world with 75 aircraft, including 21 Airbus A320ceos, nine A320neos, seven A321ceos, 10 A321neos, four A330ceos, four A330neos, 14 ATR 72-600s, six ATR 72-500s and two dedicated ATR freighters.
