On Monday (June 21, 2021), Cebu Pacific (CED), the Philippines’ leading carrier, announced an expansion of their domestic network in support of economic recovery with five daily flights to Boracay and daily service to Bohol. In total, the carrier now offers service to 32 domestic destinations, as well as to six international gateways. CEB is the only airline in the Philippines that partnered with other companies and the government’s pandemic relief under the ‘Ingat Angat’ program. As of June 17, 2021, the carrier transported six million COVID-19 vaccine doses from China, in addition to transporting 1.5 million doses to 12 Philippine provinces.
In Monday’s announcement, Cebu Pacific’s Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience, Candice Iyog, said,
“We remain cautiously optimistic as we prepare for the bounce back and will do everything that is within our control to support and aid that. With the arrival of more vaccines and the pace at which vaccines are being rolled out, we are hopeful that in due time our networks will recover to pre-pandemic levels.”
Currently, Cebu Pacific offers service to 32 domestic and six international destinations. The airline has received a 7/7 star rating from airlineratings.com for their multi-layered COVID-19 health and safety protocols including contactless procedures, thorough cleaning and disinfection, mandatory masks and face shields and mandatory Antigen testing for frontline team members. All Cebu Pacific aircraft are also fitted with hospital-grade HEPA filters which remove 99.99% of airborne particulates, including virus clusters.
