Cathay Pacific has today announced the reopening of their redesigned The Bridge Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. This marks the first stage of the carrier’s wide-ranging lounge enhancement plan at their home hub.

On Wednesday (May 7, 2025), Cathay Pacific announced the reopening of their redesigned The Bridge lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Occupying a prime intersection at Cathay’s home hub, The Bridge has been refreshed with a range of new, unique features, as well as familiar favorites to provide guests with an elevated pre-flight experience. This marks the first stage of Cathay Pacific’s wider lounge enhancement plan in Hong Kong and beyond, and comes as the carrier prepares for the renovation of The Wing, First, which will close on May 23rd and will reopen in 2026. The Wing, Business will also be renovated in the future, ensuring that customers continue to enjoy a premium lounge experience during the renovation of these lounges.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Cathay Pacific’s General Manager – Customer Experience Design – Guillaume Vivet said,
“Our goal was to create a space that feels genuinely welcoming — one that reflects our commitment to thoughtful, human-centric design. From the furniture and dining to the scent and music, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and contribute to a relaxed, refined atmosphere. The result is a space where customers can truly unwind – a retreat designed to enrich their journey and leave a lasting impression with every visit.”
Another of Cathay Pacific’s Business Class lounges, The Deck will also be refreshed. From May 21, 2025, The Deck will serve as the Interim First Class lounge during the renovation of The Wing. Eligible customers can also continue visiting The Pier, First, and The Pier, Business during this time. Over the next two years, Cathay Pacific will also be launching new flagship lounges in Hong Kong, Beijing, and for the first time, in New York, as part of Cathay Group’s over HK$100 billion investment into aircraft, cabin products, lounges and digital innovations.

Located near Departure Gate 35 at HKIA’s Terminal 1, the newly designed The Bridge lounge continues the airline’s dedication to human-centric design, and placing the needs and wishes of guests at the heart of the design process. The Bridge brings together thoughtful propositions, design elements, and material choices to create a residential ambiance, ensuring guests feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Design elements include cherry wood, framed screens and black granite travertine, along with carefully selected plants, furniture pieces, and original artworks from the airline’s award-winning ‘Gallery in the Skies’ concept. Additionally, to provide an innovative and streamlined check-in process, The Bridge will soon be the first Cathay Pacific lounge to adopt a biometric check-in system, complemented by a traditional check-in desk.
In terms of dining, The Bridge is divided on left and right-hand sides, the left offers Chinese favorites and delicacies, while the right is focused on international culinary delights. On the left side, guests can visit Cathay Pacific’s iconic Noodle Bar, serving signature dishes and fan favorites such as wonton and dan dan noodles, and dim sum. The rotating menus are further enriched by new Chinese favorites, from main dishes such as biangbiang mian, to braised beef shin with cauliflower, along with vibrant salads and delectable deserts. The left side also features The Nook, a brand new lounge concept, complementing and extending the culinary offerings of the Noodle Bar, while expanding the dining seating into this cozy corner.
Visitors to the left side of The Bridge lounge will also discover a curated selection of Chinese regional small bites and lighter options packed with punchy flavor and texture, such as made-to-order savory filled bao, crispy scallion pancakes, and steaming rice rolls. Additionally, a custom dim sum cart, reminiscent of Hong Kong restaurants, brings something new, yet familiar.
Dedicated for First Class customers and Cathay Diamond members, the right side offers premium guests a comfortable and private space to unwind, while being looked after by the dedicated and engaging Cathay team. Also located on the right side is the international Food Hall, which features front-of-house ovens for an elevated oven-to-plate concept. Wholesome, comforting and familiar, the menu features individual casseroles such as beef bourguignon and Provencal vegetable bakes, as well as freshly baked pastries, vibrant salads and moreish desserts.
Finally, The Bridge features ‘The Bar’, with its impressive panoramic views of the runway, which serves as the perfect place for guests to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails, barista coffees, or a glass of Champagne while chatting with Cathay’s professional bartenders. Outfitted with Cathay Pacific’s bespoke Solo Chairs, customers are treated to a uniquely elevated lounge experience.
