Cathay Pacific Launches Inaugural Nonstop Flight Between Hong Kong and Seattle

Cathay Pacific has today announced the launch of their inaugural direct flight between Hong Kong and Seattle. The inaugural flight was operated with an Airbus A350-900 featuring the airline’s iconic ‘lettuce leaf sandwich’ livery.

On Monday (March 30, 2026), Cathay Pacific announced the launch of their inaugural nonstop flight between Hong Kong (HKG) and Seattle (SEA). The route will now operate five times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. As part of Cathay’s 80th anniversary celebrations, the inaugural Hong Kong-Seattle flight was operated with a special-edition Airbus A350-900 aircraft featuring Cathay’s iconic ‘lettuce leaf sandwich’ livery, honoring 80 years of service. With the new Seattle route, Cathay Pacific now operates nearly 120 weekly return flights to North America.
In Monday’s announcement, Cathay’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Lavinia Lau, said,

Cathay Pacific’s new Hong Kong-Seattle service is operated with an Airbus A350-900, featuring fully lie-flat beds in Business class, spacious seats in Premium Economy, and comfortable Economy Class seating.
