On Tuesday (June 22, 2021), Airbus announced that Cathay Pacific Airways and HK Express have selected the company’s Flight Hour Services (FHS) suite of maintenance services in support of their A320 Family fleets. The contracts extend Airbus’ relationship with Cathay Pacific and welcome HK Express as a new FHS customer. The multi-year maintenance-by-the-hour contracts will cover integrated component services, onsite stock, pool access and repair services. Additionally, both airlines will benefit from Airbus’ engineering expertise as well as local FHS representatives in Hong Kong.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Cathay Pacific Airways’ Director of Engineering, Neil Glenn, said,

“Our A350 fleet has been supported by FHS since 2016 and we are pleased to be expanding this service to cover our A320 fleet.”

Also commenting on the new FHS contract, HK Express’ CEO, Mandy Ng, stated,

“We believe this agreement with Airbus to provide component management services on our A320 fleet will help ensure we achieve our operational and reliability targets, allowing us to provide a best-in-class service to our customers.”

Bruno Bousquet, Head of Airbus Customer Services Asia-Pacific, added,

“Airbus’s FHS will support the operational ramp-up at Cathay Pacific and HK Express. These new contracts will enable us to work even closer with both carriers to offer them the best services to cope with the new market reality.”

Over the last six months, Airbus has finalized 11 FHS contracts with operators worldwide. The latest agreements demonstrate continued interest in Airbus’ integrated maintenance service, which is proving even more relevant as airlines need to carefully monitor their costs and investments in the post-pandemic environment.
