British Airways has added four new destinations to their European short-haul network including service to Wroclaw and Gdansk in Poland, as well as Riga, Latvia and Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
On Tuesday (April 27, 2021), British Airways announced the addition of four new destinations to their short-haul network including Wroclaw (WRO) and Gdansk (GDN) in Poland, Riga (RIX), Latvia and Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) in Romania. Service on the new routes will begin in July and run throughout the summer with service from London-Heathrow. Wroclaw flights will be offered twice-weekly, while service to Gdansk, Riga and Cluj-Napoca will operate three times weekly. The schedules have been timed to accommodate those visiting friends and family for a long weekend or customers looking for an exciting city break. All flights will be operated with British Airways’ short-haul Airbus fleet.
In today’s announcement, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, Neil Chernoff, said,
“It’s great to be launching new routes as we listen to our customers and assess where they want to travel. We know these four new destinations will be popular with people visiting friends and relatives, but they also offer great city breaks, when the time is right, with flights that head out just before the weekend and return on Sunday.”
To celebrate the launch of the new routes, British Airways is offering return fares from £83-95. Roundtrip fares to Wroclaw and Gdansk start at £83 and £85 respectively, while return tickets to Riga and Cluj-Napoca start at £94 and £95 respectively. Additionally, travelers can book their flights with added peace of mind, as British Airways has waived change fees and is offering a voucher exchange for travel through April 2022.
The new flights complement the carrier’s strong Eastern European network which already offers regularly scheduled flights to Krakow and Warsaw in Poland, as well as Bucharest, Romania. Alongside the four new routes announced today, British Airways is also launching new summer seasonal service to Perugia, Italy from June 28, 2021. Perugia service was originally scheduled to start in 2020, but was postponed due to the impact of the pandemic and associated travel restrictions.
