Breeze Airways will launch new service between Tampa and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands starting December 16, 2026. The carrier will also significantly expand service to/from Atlantic City, N.J., helping to fill the void left by Spirit Airlines.

On Tuesday (May 5, 2026), Breeze Airways announced the launch of new nonstop service between Tampa (TPA) and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Starting December 16, 2026, the route will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additionally, the carrier has announced a major expansion of their network to and from Atlantic City, New Jersey (ACY), an airport formerly dominated by Spirit Airlines. With the Atlantic City expansion, Breeze will directly serve seven destinations from the airport, more than any other carrier.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Breeze Airways’ Founder and CEO, David Neeleman, said,
“In 2021, Breeze took flight with a handful of routes and big plans to deliver affordable, elevated service between underserved cities. Launching service to the U.S. Virgin Islands on the cusp of our 5-year anniversary speaks to how far Breeze has come in that time. Whether it’s a new destination like St. Thomas or making sure travelers in Atlantic City have affordable options, we’re continuing to grow where the demand is – and we’re just getting started.”
Service from Atlantic City to Orlando will start on July 3rd, followed by Myrtle Beach and Fort Myers on October 22nd, and West Palm Beach on December 17, 2026. Breeze is also launching new direct seasonal service between Columbus, Ohio and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic starting January 8, 2027. The carrier is also launching new nonstop seasonal service from Pittsburgh to Cancun and Punta Cana starting January 7, 2027, as well as direct service to Vero Beach, Florida starting October 1, 2026. Additionally, Breeze will launch new nonstop seasonal service from Richmond, Virginia to Cancun on January 8, 2027. From Tampa, in addition to the new St. Thomas service, the carrier will also start new direct seasonal service to Cancun, which will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting December 19, 2026.
