BOC Aviation Delivers One Boeing 737-8 MAX on Lease to Eastar Jet

BOC Aviation Limited has today announced the delivery of one Boeing 737-8 MAX on lease to South Korean carrier Eastar Jet Co. Limited. The aircraft is powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines.

On Wednesday (May 31, 2023), BOC Aviation Limited announced the placement of one CFM LEAP-1B powered Boeing 737-8 MAX on lease to Eastar Jet Co. Limited. Founded in 2009, Eastar Jet is based at Gimpo International Airport (KAC) in Seoul, South Korea. The carrier currently operates three Boeing 737-800NGs.


In Wednesday’s announcement, BOC Aviation’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Robert martin, said,

“We are pleased to participate in Eastar’s growth story and to welcome it as a new customer as we continue to provide the latest technology aircraft. Korea and Asia-Pacific are markets that are recovering their vibrancy as they enjoy renewed growth and this transaction is emblematic of the demand from customers that we are working with.”


Also commenting on the new lease agreement, Eastar Jet’s Chief Operating Officer, Sang-Jong Yoo, said,


“With the proactive cooperation of BOC Aviation, we were able to successfully deliver a Boeing 737-8 aircraft within the scheduled date. We had experienced the operational efficiency of Boeing 737-8 by operating it for the first time in South Korea. Starting with this Boeing 737-8, we will expand our routes and initiate substantial business expansion.”
