For summer 2022, Binter will launch new service to Florence, Ponta Delgada, Fez, Valladolid and Menorca. The carrier will also resume service from Gran Canaria to Banjul, Sal and Jerez del la Frontera, while increasing frequencies to Pamplona.
On Thursday (April 7, 2022), Binter announced the launch of new summer 2022 service to five destinations including Florence, Ponta Delgada, Fez, Valladolid and Menorca. The airline will also resume service from Gran Canaria to Banjul, Sal and Jerez de la Frontera, and increase frequencies to Pamplona. Binter’s summer 2022 schedule offers the most international service in the airline’s history, with 13 additional routes versus 2021. From July, the carrier will launch service to Florence (Italy), Ponta Delgada (Azores), Fez (Morocco), Valladolid and Menorca (Spain). Binter also recently announced new connections between Madeira and Dakar.
Weekly service between Gran Canaria and Florence will start on July 2nd and will operate on Saturdays. The flight departs Gran Canaria at 09:30, while the return flight departs Florence at 15:30. Ponta Delgada service will also operate on Saturdays with a 08:30 departure from Gran Canaria, and returning at 10:30. Service to Fez will be offered once weekly on Saturdays with a 11:30 departure from Gran Canaria, and at 15:15.
Starting July 1, 2022, Binter will also offer one weekly flight on Fridays to both Valladolid and Menorca. Flights to Valladolid will depart Gran Canaria at 16:05 and return at 20:15, while flights to Menorca depart at 08:30, and return at 13:20. Service between Gran Canaria and Jerez de la Frontera will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays, with flights departing the Gran Canaria at 15:30 and returning at 19:30. These flights will complement the existing twice weekly flights from Tenerife North Airport which operate on Tuesdays and Fridays. Additionally, Binter will add a new frequency on Fridays between Gran Canaria and Pamplona, with flights departing at 08:30 and returning from Pamplona at 21:00.
Finally, the carrier will resume service to some West African destinations West Africa. From June 23, 2022, Binter will restart flights to Banjul in Gambia, which will operate on Thursdays, with flights departing Gran Canaria at 23:00, and returning at 01:40 on Fridays. Starting July 5th, the carrier will also resume once weekly flights to Sal in Cape Verde, which will operate on Tuesdays. Flights will depart Gran Canaria at 23:00, while the return flight returns at 00:35 on Wednesdays.
Founded in 1989, Binter began flying in the Canary Islands archipelago with service connecting the islands and a clear focus on public service. In 2005, the airline began to operate flights outside of the Canary Islands with the goal of offering direct connections to other markets. In 2018, the airline began regular service to national destinations, first to Mallorca and Vigo, and later to Pamplona, Zaragoza, Murcia, Santander, Vitoria, Asturias and Jerez de la Frontera. Binter has since substantially expanded their domestic and international network, and for summer 2022 will offer up to 200 weekly flights from the Canary Islands to 31 airports.
