Binter will launch new nonstop flights to five destinations in Italy and France from July 2021, including service to Toulouse, Marseille, Lille, Turin and Venice. The carrier will also launch new service to Tarragona, expanding their Spanish network to 10 destinations.
On Thursday (April 8, 2021), Canary Islands-based Binter announced the launch of five new direct routes to Italy and France with service to Toulouse, Marseille, Lille, Turin and Venice from July 2021. The carrier continues to maintain all their national routes and will also launch new service to Tarragona this summer, expending their network of direct Spanish destinations outside of the Canary Islands to ten. At yesterday’s press conference, Binter’s President, Rodolfo Núnez, said,
“This new international leap represents a great challenge for Binter in a very complex context, but we continue to bet on the connectivity of the entire archipelago, of the eight islands, following the strategic plan that we drew up before the pandemic. In the future, if all goes well, and according to plan, we will continue to put more frequencies and perhaps more destinations, both from Tenerife and from Gran Canaria, and without ruling out direct flights to, or from, other islands. The important thing is to sell all the Canary Islands as a whole.”
From July, including the new routes, Binter will offer 94 direct weekly connections and over 600,000 seats per year. The new European routes will be serviced with Binter’s five new Embraer E195-E2s. Binter has recently been recognized by Swiss airline intelligence provider, Ch-Aviation for operating one of the youngest fleets in Europe, with an average age of only 4.8 years for their fleet of 28 aircraft.
The Carrier will operate 18 weekly flights between the Canary Islands and the new European destinations with up to two weekly flights to each city.
Binter offers guests traveling on international and national routes the added benefit of free connections to and from any of the Canary Islands, with the convenience of 170 daily inter-island flights. Tickets on all new routes are now available for purchase through all sales channels at special introductory rates for travel from July 1st through October 15, 2021.
Binter was founded in 1989 in the Canary archipelago with a clear focus on public service by connecting all the islands. In 2005, the airline began operating outside of the Canary Islands with direct connections to other markets including service to Lisbon and Madeira (Portugal) and the African destinations of Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Dakhla, El Aaiún, Nouakchott, Dakar, Banjul and the island of Sal. Binter also launched regular operations to national destinations in 2018 with direct flights to Mallorca and Vigo, and later to Pamplona, Zaragoza, Murcia, Santander, Vitoria, Asturias and Cádiz. As previously mentioned, Binter will also launch service to Tarragona in summer 2021. With new service to Marseille, Toulouse, Lille, Venice and Turin, the airline now offers service to 26 destinations outside of the Canary Islands.
