The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG) has today announced MSC Air Cargo as their newest member. MSC Air Cargo flies between key destinations in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

On Tuesday (July 15, 2025), the international airline association BARIG (The Board of Airline Representatives in Germany) announced that MSC Air Cargo has now become their newest member, growing the number of international cargo airline members to over 30. With a fleet of new Boeing B777-200 freighters, MSC Air Cargo flies between key destinations in Europe, Asia and North and South America. The cargo airline is part the MSC Group, a leading global provider of transport and logistics solutions.
In Tuesday’s announcement, BARIG’s Chairman and Executive Director, Michael Hoppe, said,
“We are pleased that MSC Air Cargo is strengthening the BARIG community and thus contributing a high level of expertise in the field of air freight. The industry in Germany is confronted with numerous challenges, such as high location costs, complex processes and high bureaucratization. With the practical knowledge of our more than 30 international cargo airlines, we are committed to noticeable relief, process acceleration and overall better framework conditions for air freight in Germany.”
Also commenting on their new BARIG membership, MSC Air Cargo’s CEO, Jannie Davel, added,
“With the third highest gross domestic product in the world, Germany is an important business location. Therefore, it is important for us to be even more closely networked with the air cargo industry in Germany as a BARIG member. We look forward to the constructive exchange and the advancement of the projects in the community.”
BARIG groups all activities and initiatives in the field of air freight in the Air Cargo Committee, which was recently strengthened through restructuring and with a new dual leadership in the management. This means that the Committee can now tackle the current challenges even more efficiently and effectively.
Founded in 1951, Frankfurt am Main-based BARIG (Board of Airline Representatives in Germany e.V.) represents over 100 national and international airlines in the scheduled, charter, low cost and air cargo sectors. The association works to improve conditions in the aviation industry in Germany and is the key industry contact for politics, authorities, industry and media.
