Azerbaijan Airlines Signs Codeshare Agreement with Gulf Air

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Gulf Air, the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, have signed a new codeshare agreement that will offer customers increased travel options between the two countries and beyond.

On Wednesday (August 13, 2025), Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Gulf Air, the national flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Under the agreement, both carriers will offer joint international flights, expanding connectivity for both business and leisure travelers, while strengthening economic, cultural, and business ties between Azerbaijan and Bahrain. Customers will benefit from a broader network of destinations, seamless booking in a single transaction, and the convenience of checking in luggage through to their final destination.
In Thursday’s announcement, AZAL’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jamil Manizade, said,
“This agreement marks an important milestone in the expansion of AZAL’s global route network. Our cooperation with Gulf Air — a leading airline in the Middle East — allows us to provide passengers with more flexible and convenient travel options while deepening strategic ties between our nations.”
Baku-based Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) is the national flag carrier of Azerbaijan and part of AZCON holding. The carrier operates a fleet of Boeing 757-200s, 767-300ERs and 787-8 Dreamliners, as well as Airbus A320 and A320neo Family, A340-500, and Embraer E190 aircraft.
