Avelo Launches New Service From Newport News to Orlando and FLL, Between Lansing and Orlando

Avelo Airlines has today announced new service from Newport News / Williamsburg to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale from October 19th and 20th respectively. From late October 2022, the airline will also start new service between Lansing, Michigan and Orlando.

On Tuesday (July 26, 2022), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of three new routes to popular destinations in Florida. The carrier will start new service from Newport News/Williamsburg Airport (PHF) in Virginia to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) from October 19th and 20th, respectively. Celebrating the launch of the new Florida routes, Avelo is offering introductory one-way fares from only $29. To qualify for the low promotional fares, tickets must be purchased by August 9, 2022 (additional T&Cs apply).


In Tuesday’s announcment, Avelo Airlines’ Chairman and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,


“Virginia Peninsula – say hello to Avelo! We are excited to add Newport News – Williamsburg Airport (PHF) to Avelo’s nationwide network of popular destinations. Avelo will offer the Peninsula’s only nonstop service to Florida. That means getting to the Sunshine State is now easier and more affordable than ever for Peninsula residents. Avelo’s refreshingly convenient, reliable and caring service is a perfect fit with Newport News -Williamsburg Airport’s easy going hometown airport experience.”


In a separate press release today (July 26, 2022), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of new service between Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport (LAN) in Lansing, Michigan and Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida, with flights to commence in late October 2022. In celebration of the new Lansing-Orlando route, Avelo is offering introductory one-way fares from only $59. To qualify for the low promotional fares, tickets must be purchased by July 31, 2022, for travel completed by February 15, 2023 (additional T&Cs Apply).


Further commenting on the new Lansing-Orlando service, Avelo Airlines’ Mr. Levy, said,


“Lansing – say hello to Avelo! We are excited to add the mid-Michigan region to Avelo’s nationwide network of popular destinations. With Lansing’s only nonstop service to Florida, getting to the Sunshine State is now easier and more affordable than ever for Capital Region residents. Orlando is an ideal fall and winter retreat — and Avelo’s refreshingly convenient, reliable and caring service ensures our mid-Michigan Customers will arrive relaxed and ready for some fun in the sun.”

In two additional press releases, Avelo further announced on Thursday (July 28, 2022), new service between Kalamazoo, Michigan (AZO) and Orlando, Florida (MCO), and also announced new service between Lexington, Kentucky (LEX) and both Orlando and Tampa (TPA). The inaugural Lexington-Orlando flight will depart on October 19th, while the first flight between Lexington and Tampa will start on November 12th. The route between Kalamazoo and Orlando will launch on October 26, 2022.

Launched on April 28, 2021, Avelo Airlines was founded with the simple purpose of inspiring travel.
