Avelo Airlines Grows in Raleigh-Durham With Second Based Aircraft, Three New Routes

Avelo Airlines is expanding their fifth base in Raleigh-Durham North Carolina, adds a second based aircraft, and launches three new routes. The carrier will now offer nonstop service from Raleigh-Durham to 10 destinations.

On Wednesday (March 15, 2023), Avelo Airlines announced the expansion of their fifth base in Raleigh-Durham (RDU) North Carolina. The carrier will add a second based aircraft and launch three new routes to Memphis (MEM), Tennessee, Manchester (MHT), New Hampshire, and Rochester (ROC), New York. Memphis and Rochester service will start on June 14th, while Manchester flights will commence on June 21, 2023. All three routes will operate twice weekly with a Boeing 737NG, and introductory one-way fares from $39 (T&Cs apply). With the new RDU routes, Avelo now offers service to 40 destinations across 23 states.


In Wednesday’s route announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Chairman and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,


“The addition of these three new routes expands Avelo’s U.S. network to 40 destinations spanning nearly half of the country. The addition of a second aircraft to our RDU base grows Avelo’s service from The Research Triangle to 10 popular nonstop destinations. We are very encouraged by the momentum Avelo is experiencing in Raleigh-Durham. We’re just getting started and look forward to inspiring even more travel to and from RDU.”


In addition to the newly announced routes, Avelo currently offers service between Raleigh-Durham and Tweet-New Haven (HVN), Orlando (MCO), Tampa (TPA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Fort Myers (RSW), Sarasota-Bradenton (SRQ), and West Palm Beach (PBI).

Avelo operates a fleet of single-class Next Generation Boeing 737s.
