Atlas Air Worldwide Names Martin Drew as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer

Atlas Air Worldwide has today announced the appointment of Martin Drew as the carrier’s new Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. In his new role, Mr. Drew will report to the company’s CEO, Michael Steen, and will be part of the Executive Leadership Team.

On Tuesday (September 26, 2023), Atlas Air Worldwide announced the appointment of Martin Drew as the company’s new Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. In his new role, Mr. Drew will lead Atlas Air’s comprehensive corporate strategy, including initiatives focused on transformational growth. Drew will now serve on the company’s Executive Leadership Team and will report to the company’s CEO, Michael Steen. In his role overseeing corporate strategy, Martin Drew will seek to drive strategic growth and diversification across Atlas Air’s services, geographic footprint, and partnerships.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Atlas Air Worldwide’s CEO, Michael Steen, said,

Also commenting on his appointment, Atlas Air’s Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Martin Drew, added,

Most recently, Martin Drew served as SVP – Global Sales, Marketing, Brand and Cargo at Etihad Airways. Joining Etihad in 2005, he spent 18 months working with Jet Airways as Vice President of Cargo in Mumbai. Previously, he also served as Etihad’s Vice President – Europe and the Americas, where he was responsible for passenger sales, marketing and alliances. Before joining Etihad Airways, Mr. Drew held senior leadership positions at Lufthansa and DAS Cargo.


Purchase, New York-based Atlas Air Worldwide is a leading global provider of third-party aircraft and aviation operating services. Company subsidiaries include Atlas Air and Titan Aviation Holdings. Additionally, the company owns a majority stake in Polar Air Cargo Worldwide. Together, the Atlas Air family of companies operate the world’s largest Boeing 747 Freighter fleet. The company also offers their customers a wide selection of Boeing 747, 777, 767 and 737 aircraft for domestic, regional and international cargo and passenger operations. On March 17, 2023, Atlas Air Worldwide was taken private by an investment group led by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, along with investment affiliates of J.F. Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital.
