ANA and Air India to Connect India and Japan With New Codeshare Partnership

Starting May 23, 2024, under a new codeshare partnership, ANA will add their NH code to Air India’s flights between Narita and Delhi, while Air India’s AI code will be added to ANA flights between Haneda and New Delhi, as well as between Narita and Mumbai.

On Monday (April 22, 2024), All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced that they have entered into a commercial agreement with Air India, marking the beginning of a new codeshare partnership.  Starting May 23, 2024, subject to government approval,  ANA will place their ‘NH’ marketing code on Air India’s flights between Tokyo-Haneda and Delhi.  Likewise, Air India will place their ‘AI’ code on ANA operated flights between Haneda and New Delhi, as well as between Narita and Mumbai.  With the new codeshare partnership between the two Star Alliance members, customers will enjoy single ticket travel, will be able to earn mileage points, and will also have access to premium services.


In Tuesday’s announcement, ANA’s EVP – Alliances and International Affairs, Katsuya Goto, said,


“We look forward to building this strategic partnership with Air India, as it is a significant step towards furthering stronger air connectivity and enhancing customer experience between Japan and India.  This collaboration is a testament to ANA’s commitment to improving the air travel experience for all of its travelers and we hope this will lead to a seamless travel environment between our two nations.”

 

Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Air India’s Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, said,

 

“This codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways marks an important step forward in connecting India and Japan.  This collaboration broadens our network connectivity and offers our guests seamless travel experiences and a wider choice of flights between the two countries. We look forward to a successful collaboration with ANA and exploring further avenues for cooperation in the future.”
