American Airlines Reports Second Quarter 2025 Net Profit of $599 Million or $0.91 per Diluted Share

American Airlines has reported a second quarter 2025 net profit of $599 million or $0.91 per diluted share on a year-over-year increase in revenue of 0.1 percent to 14.4 billion. At June 30, 2025, the company had $12.0 billion in total available liquidity.

On Thursday (July 24, 2025), American Airlines reported their second quarter financial results for the period ending June 30, 2025. The carrier reports a second quarter net profit of $599 million or $0.91 per diluted share on a 0.1 percent year-over-year increase in revenue to $14.4 billion, a quarterly record. American’s second quarter total revenue per available seat mile (TRASM) declined 2.7 percent compared to the same period last year to 18.54 cents, while cost per available seat mile (CASM) declined 0.8 percent to 17.08 cents. Costs excluding fuel and net special items (CASM-ex) increased 3.4 percent to 13.59 cents. The company ended the second quarter with $12 billion of total available liquidity, including cash and short-term investments, plus undrawn capacity under revolving credit and other facilities.

In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ CEO, Robert Isom, said,
