This winter, American Airlines will offer their largest-ever schedule to the Caribbean and Latin America. Service will be increased on 23 routes, and the carrier will offer new service from Charlotte to Tortola (BVI) and to Cancun from Nashville and Cincinnati.
On Wednesday (June 14, 2023), American Airlines announced their largest-ever winter schedule to the Caribbean and Latin America, with a 10 percent increase in seat capacity versus 2022. From December, the carrier will increase service on 23 routes, and seat capacity from Charlotte will increase by 40 percent compared to last winter. American will also expand winter seasonal service to Tortola (EIS) in the British Virgin Islands with double-daily flights, and will also launch new nonstop service to Cancun (CUN) from Nashville (BNA) and Cincinnati (CVG). For winter 2023/24, American will operate over 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.
In today’s announcement, American Airlines’ Vice President of Operations and Commercial – Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America, José A. Frieg, said,
“This coming winter we're looking forward to adding more service to the destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean that our customers want to visit, including popular spots like Cancun, Montego Bay and Punta Cana, as well as our newest destination, Tortola. We are proud to strengthen our lead as the largest U.S. airline in the region, with more flights and seats to more destinations than any other single carrier or partnership.”
