American Airlines And GOL Loyalty Members Now Enjoy Enhanced Benefits on Both Airlines

American Airlines AAdvantage® status members and GOL Smiles Diamond members will now have access to benefits such as complimentary premium seating, priority check-in, priority boarding and more when traveling on either airline.

On Tuesday (May 17, 2022), American Airlines announced an expansion of their partnership with GOL that will ensure their most loyal members enjoy a more seamless experience with enhanced reciprocal benefits. American Airlines AAdvantage® status members and their companions flying on GOL-operated flights will now receive complimentary GOL+ Conforto seats, priority check-in and boarding, and complimentary seat selection. GOL SMILES Diamond members will also enjoy access to complimentary Main Cabin Extra and Preferred seats, as well as priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage when flying with American.


In today’s announcment, American Airlines’ Vice President of Customer Experience, Loyalty and Marketing, Julie Rath, said,


“Our partnership with GOL is a win-win for our customers at both airlines as travel demand to and from South America continues to increase. Adding reciprocal benefits reinforces our commitment to creating customer value for our status members and expanding our AAdvantage program.”


GOL’s Director of Alliances and Distribution, Randall Saenz Aguero, added,


“This is a step that strengthens our partnership with American Airlines. We already have reciprocal connectivity in the hubs operated by the two companies, ensuring the best combination of frequencies and products between Brazil and the United States. Now, the partnership of American and GOL provides a wide range of benefits to customers of both airlines.”
