American Airlines Adds 68 Flights This Fall for College Football Fans

American Airlines is helping college football fans get ready for game day with 68 new flights for fall 2022, including service to some of the most popular matchups. The carrier will also upguage aircraft on several routes to accommodate more fans.

On Friday (May 13, 2022), American Airlines announced that they will add 68 flights this fall to help get college football fans get ready for gameday. In addition to the added flights to some of the most popular games, the carrier will upguage aircraft between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Birmingham, Alabama (BHM) for the October 8th matchup of Texas A&M University at the University of Alabama, as well as between DFW and Baton Rouge (BTR) on November 5th for the University of Alabama at Louisiana State University. American Airlines currently serves more U.S. college towns than any other carrier.


In Friday’s announcment, American’s Managing Director of Global Network Planning, Jason Reisinger, said,


“American is making it easier for college football fans to get from the gate to the gridiron this fall. With new nonstop flights and more seats, we’re helping fans see the action in person. The American team is ready for game day with the youngest fleet of any U.S. network carrier and service that is second to none.”


Fans traveling on any of American’s narrowbody aircraft will enjoy free access to live sports and news networks 24/7 on their personal devices. AAdvantage members can also start their journey earlier with Group 6 priority boarding as soon as they enroll.
