On Monday (July 7, 2025), Allegiant Travel Company announced that funds affiliated with Blackstone Real Estate have agreed to acquire their Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor property in Port Charlotte, Florida.  Located on 22 waterfront acres on the Gulf of America in southwest Florida, the Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is a brand new 785 room resort featuring extensive amenities, including multiple food and beverage concepts, two pools, a spa, a fitness center, a rooftop adult pool and bar, a championship golf course and over 60,000 square feet of combined indoor meeting space.  Subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.

In Monday’s announcement, Blackstone Real Estate’s Senior Managing Director, Scott Trebilco, said,

“The acquisition of this brand new, highly-amenitized resort demonstrates our strong conviction in hospitality and travel and the continued growth in group-oriented destinations.  Allegiant has built a fantastic property and we look forward to bringing our extensive experience with large scale resorts to Sunseeker.”

Also commenting on the transaction, Allegiant Travel Company’s CEO, Gregory C. Anderson, added,

“Blackstone's extensive hospitality holdings and their execution capabilities make them the ideal counterparty for this transaction and also to help realize the full potential of Sunseeker Resort.  Furthermore, it supports Allegiant's strategy centered around the airline and we plan to use the proceeds from the sale to repay debt and strengthen our balance sheet.”

Founded in 1999, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) is an integrated travel company with an airline at its heart, and a focus on linking passengers from small to medium cities to world-class leisure destinations with all non-stop flights and industry-low average fares.  The company offers base airfares that are often half the price of a typical roundtrip ticket and currently operates an all-Airbus A320 Family fleet.  Allegiant has also placed an order for up to 100 Boeing 737-7 and 737-8-200 MAX jets, some of which have already been delivered.
