On Thursday (June 16, 2022), Alaska Airlines announced the launch of new daily service from Seattle to Cleveland and Miami, as well as between Boise and Idaho Falls and Las Vegas. Starting this weekend, the carrier will also launch a new route between Anchorage and Salt Lake City. The new Cleveland service complements Alaska’s existing service from Seattle to Columbus and Cincinnati. The new direct service to Miami marks the carrier’s 100th nonstop destination from Seattle, joining the airline’s existing route to Fort Lauderdale, which has been in operation since 2012. Tickets for all new routes are now available for purchase on alaskaair.com.

In Thursday’s announcment, Alaska Airlines’ Vice President of Networks and Alliances, Brett Catlin, said,

“Northeast Ohio, South Florida, southern Idaho – we’re flying new routes and heading to new destinations where our guests want to go. We’re seeing strong tickets sales for all our new nonstops. That’s another indication that so many of us are ready to get out and go places.”

Commenting on the new Cleveland route, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport’s Director, Robert Kennedy, said,

“We are truly excited to welcome Alaska Airlines to the Cleveland Market. It’s great to see this exceptional air service to Seattle that will connect Clevelander’s to West Coast cities, Hawaii, western Canada and Alaska.”

Further speaking on the launch of the new Seattle-Miami route, Miami-Dade County’s Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, added,

“We proudly welcome Alaska Airlines back to Miami International Airport for the first time in 10 years. Daily flights to the Pacific Northwest and beyond will give our residents more travel options, especially to the beautiful state of Alaska. I also commend Alaska Airlines for being included in TIME Magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2022 for its work in sustainability, one of my highest priorities for Miami-Dade County.”

With the added service to Idaho Falls and Las Vegas, Alaska Airlines will now offer 31 daily departures nonstop to 15 destinations. The new service between Anchorage will start on June 18th, expanding the carrier’s summer 2022 network from Anchorage to 22 nonstop destinations.

Alaska Airlines and their regional partners serve over 120 destinations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica and Belize. The sustainability-focused carrier emphasizes Next-Level Care for guests, while offering low fares and award-winning service.
