On Monday (May 17, 2021), Airbus announced that they have won an additional order for an Airbus Corporate Jets ACJ319neo from an undisclosed customer. The aircraft will be powered by CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines. The ACJ319neo offers a unique flying experience with a spacious cabin and intercontinental range and can fly eight passengers 6,750 nautical miles (12,500 km) or 15 hours. Deliveries of the aircraft started in 2019 and three are already in operation. To date, 12 ACJ320neo Family customers have placed a total of 16 orders, including six ACJ319neos.

In Monday’s announcement, ACJ’s President, Benoit Defforge, said,

“We are delighted to win another order for the ACJ319neo. Customers will enjoy travelling in the spacious cabin whilst flying intercontinental routes. The ACJ319neo has a robust reliability. Customers will as well benefit from a higher passenger capacity with exceptional comfort and similar operating costs to traditional business jets because of more cost-efficient maintenance, training, and better value.”

The ACJ319neo is part of the ACJ320neo Family, featuring the most spacious cabins of any business jet, while being similar in size to competing large-cabin aircraft. Due to lower maintenance and training overheads, the aircraft offers similar total operating costs compared to competitor’s large-cabin aircraft, while delivering a much more favorable CO2 footprint. Currently, more than 200 Airbus Corporate Jets are in service on every continent, including Antarctica.

In a separate announcement of Monday (5/17/21), Airbus further announced that Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) and Latécoère Interconnection Systems (LIS) have signed a partnership agreement to develop new and unique In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) technology to be known as ‘The ACJ Smart LiFi Monitor’. Light Fidelity or LiFi is the latest wireless communication technology which uses light to transmit data. Under the agreement, ACJ becomes the pioneer and only aircraft manufacturer to offer the next generation technology onboard a corporate aircraft.

The ACJ LiFi Monitor offers a unique entertainment experience and was designed to be an easy plug and play solution for ACJ customers. The system includes a multi-technology smart 4K monitor offering Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LiFi connectivity, while offering analog audio output, USBc ports and HDMI connections. Features also include Audio Video One Demand (AVOD), casting, mirroring, web browser, live TV and integrated video conferencing. The new technology will be available in retrofit and cabin outfitting before the end of 2021.

In another milestone for Airbus Corporate Jets today, the first section of the recently launched ACJ TwoTwenty has arrived at the A220 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Mirabel, Canada. The mid-fuselage section arrival marks the start of the first ACJ ever assembled in Canada. The ACJ TwoTwenty comes with the renowned ACJ DNA featuring the ultimate comfort, intercontinental range and a signature flexible cabin catalogue, outfitted into a modern, reliable and cost efficient A220-100. The ACJ TwoTwenty was launched in late 2020 and has already received six orders. Comlux will be the first to take delivery of the aircraft this winter and will be the exclusive outfitter for the first 15 aircraft.

The ACJ TwoTwenty offers unmatched personal space with 73 m2/785 ft2 of floorspace and is the only business jet featuring six wide VIP living areas for up to 19 passengers. The aircraft will have intercontinental range with capabilities of flying up to 5,650 nm/10m500 km, or over 12 hours. The ACJ TwoTwenty is priced just under the cost of Ultra Long Range business jets.
