Air Transat to Relaunch Most Summer Routes From April 2022

From April, Air Transat will restart flights to 25 European destinations, including six currently being served. During the peak summer 2022 season, the carrier will operate over 250 weekly direct flights on 69 routes.

On Monday (March 7, 2022), Air Transat announced that they will relaunch most of their summer 2022 routes, including service to 25 European destinations, starting in April. At the height of the summer season, the carrier will offer more than 250 direct weekly flights on 69 routes. From Montreal, Air Transat will gradually resume direct flights to 16 European destinations including all-new service to Amsterdam and the restart of flights to Athens, Basel-Mulhouse, Barcelona, Brussels, London, Madrid, Porto, Rome Venice, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Toulouse. Additionally, the airline currently offers service to Lisbon and Malaga, as well as daily service to Paris which will increase to up to 14 weekly flights for summer 2022.


In today’s announcment, Transat’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Joseph Adamo, said,


“The numbers tell us clearly that with the gradual lifting of travel restrictions worldwide, people are more ready than ever to plan their next trip, whether to Europe, the U.S., Canada or to South destinations. The outlook for the summer season is favourable, and our abundant air offering, which includes the vast majority of our pre-pandemic destinations as well as exciting new routes, is enabling us to respond to the significant pent-up demand. This surge in demand has also allowed us to increase capacity on certain key routes between now and the end of the winter season.”


From Quebec, Air Transat will be the only carrier offering service to Paris from early April, and for the first time, will offer excusive service to London starting in May. Customers traveling from Toronto will enjoy service to 15 European cities this summer including Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Dublin, Lamezia, Paris, Rome, Venice and Zagreb, in addition to flights currently operating to Glasgow, Lisbon, London, Manchester and Porto. Due to sustained demand, Air Transat will also now serve Faro in Portugal year-round.


The airline is also consolidating their position in the U.S. market with first-time service to both San Francisco and Los Angeles from Montreal. Air Transat will also operate several year-round routes to Florida with service from Montreal to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale and from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Domestically, the carrier will offer enhanced connections between Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Calgary and Vancouver. Finally, Air Transat will offer a wide selection of destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean from Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto.
