Air Transat Inaugurates New Nonstop Service Between Montreal and Los Angeles

Air Transat has launched new direst service between Montreal and Los Angeles, with flight TS240 landing at LAX on Monday, May 16th. The route will be operated three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through the end of October.

On Tuesday (May 17, 2022), Air Transat announced the launch of new nonstop service between Montreal and Los Angeles (LAX), with the first flight (TS240) touching down in the ‘City of Angels’ on Monday, May 16th. The carrier will operate the route three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through the end of October 2022. Additionally, Air Transat will inaugurate twice-weekly service between Montreal and San Francisco (SFO) from May 19th. Service to both major California Airports will allow travelers to book a multi-destination flight, with for example, with an arrival in Los Angeles, a tour along scenic Route 1, and then a departure from San Francisco.


In Tuesday’s announcment, Transat’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Joseph Adamo, said,


“We are thrilled to be operating this route and flying passengers to a multifaceted city that is known for its many tourist attractions, but that also represents an excellent gateway to the rest of California. The new flight shows our commitment to developing the transborder market and offering new destinations to travellers seeking discovery and experiences.”


Also commenting on Transat’s new Montreal-Los Angeles service, Los Angeles World Airport’s Chief Executive Officer, Justin Erbacci, said,


“The addition of Air Transat at LAX will enhance the economic and tourism ties between Los Angeles and Montreal and give Angelenos a new option when it comes to exploring all that Canada has to offer. We welcome Air Transat to beautiful Southern California just in time for travelers to head north for fun and vacations this spring and summer.”


The new routes to California will be serviced with a new generation Airbus A321neo LR, which offers a 15 percent reduction in fuel burn, a 50 percent smaller noise footprint and half the greenhouse gas NOx emissions compared to previous generation models. Guests will also enjoy a modern, roomy cabin with more personal space, as well as larger IFE screens in Economy and Club Class.
