On Wednesday (June 28, 2023), Air Transat announced the addition of Norwegian Air Shuttle to their virtual interlining platform, connectair by Air Transat. Travelers from Canada can now combine select Air Transat and Norwegian flights, making it easier to travel to Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim in Norway. With a layover at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, London Gatwick, Rome or Barcelona, Transat guests can easily connect to the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, to see breathtaking landscapes, majestic fjords, and of course, the spectacular northern lights. Norwegian becomes the platform’s 11th partner and expands access to a total of over 275 destinations across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America and Canada.

Connections are available trough the search tool on airtransat.com and through some flight aggregators. Booking also includes assistance in the event of flight delays or cancellations, to ensure travelers arrive at their destination as soon as possible.

Norwegian Air Shuttle was established in September 2002 with four domestic routes. The carrier is the largest Norwegian airline and currently employs approximately 4,500 team members. Most employees are based in Norway in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, or at the company’s head office in Fornebu. The carrier also has offices in Riga and Barcelona, as well as bases in Alicante and Malaga. The carrier currently offers affordable flights on a short-haul network of destinations in the Nordic countries and to key European destinations. Norwegian aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 45 percent by 2050.

Montreal-based Transat A.T. Inc. (TSX: TRZ), the parent company of Air Transat, was founded over 35 years ago. The company has 5,000 employees and a leading leisure airline in Canada, as well as the leading integrated tourism company. Transat offers vacation packages, hotel accommodations and air service to destinations across the Americas, Europe and the Caribbean. With codeshare and interline partnerships, Air Transat offers service to over 300 destinations. In 2022, Air Transat was voted the ‘World’s Best Leisure Airline in North America’ at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The carrier is currently renewing their fleet with the most fuel-efficient and environmentally aircraft in their class, as part of Air Transat’s commitment to a healthier environment, knowing that this is essential for the preservation of the magnificent destinations they serve.
