Air France to Increase Services to East Africa in Summer 2023 Flight Schedule

Air France has unveiled their first new routes for summer 2023 which runs from April through October. From June 12, 2023, the carrier will add new service from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Dar Es Salam, and will increase service to Zanzibar, Nairobi, and Antananarivo.

On Monday (November 28, 2022), Air France announced their first new routes for the summer 2023 season which runs from April through October, with a particular focus on East Africa. From June 12, 2023, the carrier will launch new service between Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Dar Es Salam (Tanzania), as a continuation of service to Zanzibar (also Tanzania). The route will be operated three times weekly with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring 30 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy and 225 Economy Class seats. Dar Es Salam is also served daily from Amsterdam by Group partner KLM, as a continuation of service to Zanzibar on Thursdays and Sundays, and as a continuation of service to Kilimanjaro on the other days of the week.

Air France Flight AF876 will departs Paris-CDG at 10:20 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and lands in Zanzibar at 20:15. The flight then departs Zanzibar at 21:45 and lands in Dar Es Salam at 22:20 the same day (all times local). The return flight (same flight number) departs Dar Es Salam at 23:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and lands at Paris-CDG at 07:55+1. The new Dar es Salam service will also result in increased frequencies to Zanzibar, which will be served three times weekly, compared to twice weekly in 2022. Until recently, the route to Zanzibar was operated as a continuation of the service to Nairobi (Kenya).


From June 12, 2023, Air France will operate daily return flights between Paris and Nairobi, an increase from the six weekly flights currently offered. These flights will also be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Additionally, the carrier will increase frequencies between Paris-CDG and Antananarivo (Madagascar) from four to five weekly flights for summer 2023. For the first time, this route will be serviced with an Airbus A350-900 featuring 34 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy and 266 Economy Class seats.


For summer 2023, the carrier will also continue service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and New York-Newark (EWR), with daily service to be inaugurated from December 12, 2022. This route will be operated with a Boeing 777-200ER. Service between Paris and Hong Kong is expected to resume on January 9, 2023, with three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and the return flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Hong Kong route will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER.
